What was that fence for, I wonder.

It’s somewhat short, rickety, easily breached. 

I can’t imagine an animal or human who couldn’t find a way over.

But, perhaps it was just for show, 

A symbol of pride for accomplishing a goal that took years of hard work and penny pinching to obtain.
