My Submission – 100 Words
It had been a month since his passing, and she only just found the courage to enter his art room. Sifting through her father’s work, she debated what to do: hang the unfinished pieces on her bedroom walls, or perhaps use his leftover paints to complete them, after-all, she was a prize-winning artist herself. After an hour of contemplation, she decided to leave them be as a memorial to his memory, but set up her own easel and chair in an empty corner of the room so she could imagine he was still sitting behind her, placing his finishing touches.

An in-box is never empty so it goes without saying that some things will remain unfinished. The memorial chair is a poignant reminder and comfort.
