Those of you who boast thousands, probably won't see this as a big deal. But, I am elated!! When I began this blogging journey, I didn't know what to expect. I assumed I'd be writing all these personal posts, based on my life and experiences. I still am, here and there, but the moment I... Continue Reading →

Daily Prompts and Saturday Symphony #16 – A Strange Fairy Tale

I am but a moth A measly moth A lowly moth Who swathed my wings in blue and white velvet A strange thing for a moth to do But, I would rather be a butterfly Not as strange as it seems I am nervous, as a moth Swatted and shunned  While, a butterfly... Butterflies melt... Continue Reading →

Daily Prompts – My choice

I elect not to take this path Eschewing what draws me to it I scan ahead Finding brilliant color, butterflies, willows umbrellaed  Every fantasy is realized Fantasy Not reality Reality is misery, despite my optimism Silence, despite my screams If I take this path of fantasy There I shall remain I’m choosing my own path... 50 Words Thursday # 93

My submission, 100 words, based on a true story lol:

A wasp just stung me
Can you tell who I am
That I’m writhing in pain
I’m on the promenade
Just there
The woman who had a glorious day
Bringing her baby to the ocean for the first time
We saw fish
Tasted salt water
Watched the boats sway with the breeze
Do you see me
Holding my baby with my throbbing arm
I was trying to create memories
Have the perfect day
I was stung
By the ultimate party pooper
He could have minded his business
But instead
He stung me
And now, my perfect day is ruined

Keep it alive

“… after that, he had to make his way all down the parade to the West Pier” – Brighton Rock, Graham Greene.

He sat on the ledge and saw the humansmilling around in dozens. Some were in the water while others were enjoying themselves on the beach. To his wise eyes, this all looked foolish. Why were they willing to…

Daily Prompts- A healing thought

My submission, in response to the following prompts: Recovery, extent, brave, prim, flair, sublime, promises

You are brave
Making that decision
Empty promises will never fill your cup
You deserve a better life
A sublime existence
Of joy, assurance, and unbounding adoration
You have a knack, a flair
For spreading that wide smile across your face
While you are crumbling inside
I’m sure no one knows the extent of your struggles
I, myself, can only speculate
My love
Raise up your chin
Keep it prim and proper
For your recovery is so close
You just need to reach for it

Keep it alive

Dear friend;

I don’t know the extent of your illness

Nor can I presume to know much about the treatment

But I know that you are facing it like the brave person you are

I do hope that the treatment promises you a speedy recovery

And that sublime state of good health be yours sooner rather than later

Sending you healing thoughts and warm hugs

May God’s grace be with you now and always, Amen

( My wishes for friends going through a rough time due to health issues)

In response to the following prompts;

Brave, Prim, Flair

Word of the day challenge;

Word Prompts…LOVE THEM

I am a writer at heart. Always have been, always will be. I haven't gone a single day without doing some sort of writing, whether it be chapters for a novel, or even jotting down a bunch of words I like the sound of. "Lurking" is my favorite word. I love the feel of my... Continue Reading →
