Welcome to Crispina’s weekly challenge! Open to all, just for FUN, FUN, FUN!
Here’s how it works: Every Wednesday, a photo will be posted (my cover). And it’s up to you to respond with something CREATIVE!
Here are some suggestions:
- An answering photo
- A cartoon
- A joke
- A caption
- An anecdote
- A short story (flash fiction)
- A poem
- A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
- An essay
- A song—the lyrics or the performance
My Submission 🙂
Her eyes were wide,
Peripherals, on point.
Nothing would escape her:
Not that passing car,
That man, or his dog,
And definitely not that racoon feasting in a nearby trash can.
Not that cat, rustling in the bushes,
Or that child playing hopscotch on the sidewalk.
Mama was prepared to fight,
Anyone or anything
That threatened her baby.

A year or so ago we saw about four female ducks close ranks on a herring gull as it tried to make off with a duckling. They nearly drowned it!
