Welcome to, Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge! Each week, he will post a photo grabbed off the internet, and challenge bloggers to write a flash fiction piece or a poem inspired by the photo. There are no style or word limits.
The image (my cover) is from MilosCreativeArt at DeviantArt.

My Submission 🙂
Calmly, he pedaled from A to B to C to D, and back again, delivering meagre rations of canned goods, beef jerky, Twinkies..anything salvageable.
As the toxic clouds spread, the majority of the population had retreated underground.
Not him.
For some reason, he was immune.
Two years prior, he was a struggling musician,
Paid a pittance for a talent that easily rivalled the greats in his genre.
Unfortunately, the clouds rolled in before he had a chance to make his big break.
But, he had a greater purpose now,
One that far surpassed pleasing the ears of an audience…
He was keeping people alive.
For how long, he did not know,
But, it didn’t matter.
Although he was revered for his generous offerings of food and fresh water,
He was equally appreciated for the times he took a moment to sit, play his guitar, and sing.
It brought a sense of normalcy to a situation that was everything but.
His original intention was never actually fame.
He just wanted to share his gift, and a single tap of a toe or smile was all the recognition he required.
And never had he been more recognized, appreciated, or famous,
Since the toxic clouds rolled in.

Great take on the photo. I hope we never get to the point where we have to deal with toxic clouds.
