Always the bridesmaid, and happy to be.

He proposed for the third time, at my sister’s wedding, of all places, drunk and pretending like he hadn’t wronged me.

I didn’t care what anyone thought as I tossed my drink at his face and set out down the road, delighted, and free at last.
