Friday Fictioneers – Is this a Joke?

Welcome to Friday Fictioneers! Today’s photo prompt (my cover photo, speaks for itself. But, how you use it in a tale/poem…under 100 words, please…is entirely open for interpretation. However, rules state you MUST reference either lockdown, pandemic, Covid-19, or something of the sort.

Please visit Rochelle for the original challenge,

My Submission 🙂

This has gone too far. Single-ply toilet paper is bad enough, but these new rules are ridiculous!

One square for #1, two squares for #2…!?!

What about that bad sandwich I ate last night? Is that still considered #2, cause if so, every washroom in the immediate vicinity better be fitted with a bidet.

  1. Lock the roll and limit the squares these are the covid rules but I don’t care. Thanks for standing when you pee because your square is mine can’t you see.

  2. I’ve always thought bidets should be standard. It seems cleaner and more efficient.

My dad used to say, “You only need one piece of toilet paper. You fold it in half and cut out a small piece in the middle. Put your finger through the hole and use both sides.” “What’s the little piece for?” “To clean under your fingernail.” It’s so gross and doesn’t even make sense, but your story reminded me of his old joke.

  3. I remember way before the pandemic, by some ten years or so, Sheryl Crow calling on everyone to limit the amount of toilet paper used “in any one sitting” to one square. Maybe she knew what was coming, lol.

  4. Some people in the Middle East only use soap and water.
Who controls the papers use? Does it have to be allocated before you go in and someone pulls off a piece for you. The ‘Paper Monitor” – gosh who would want that job?
