I cheated…whoops. Here is my 102 word submission 🙂
He beguiled us with his puppy dog eyes and feistiness. After visiting every dog in the shelter, we adopted a spirited and rambunctious mutt who confirmed our choice with every lick, leap, and sweeping wag of his tail. But, when we got him home, he was dead weight.
We tried to take him for a walk…he went limp.
We tried to teach him to sit…he went limp.
We offered him a treat, which he immediately chomped…then went limp.
My children cried, “Is this a dog or a pile of mud?”
I glanced at my wife, who mirrored my shrug.
