My Submission 🙂
She didn’t walk, she spun wildly through the wilderness.Â
She jumped over fallen trees, played hopscotch on stones, and dipped her toes, shoes and all, in the water. She chased squirrels, whistled at birds, and pretended a stick was a lightsaber.Â
Nature seemed to transform her, from a gravely ill patient to a carefree child, a kindred spirit with nature. Her smile had never been broader.Â
We were due back at the hospital in thirty-minutes, but I had already devised the perfect excuse…car troubles. Anything to give my baby a few more minutes to live her best life.
