Not as Young as I used to be

Inspired by the word prompts offered by,

Here’s my take, please enjoy 🙂

Hopscotch is a familiar game for me. Pick up a foot and skip, easy peasy. I once considered myself a showstopper. The scene I created…I hopped those squares like nobody’s business! There was never a plan, it just came naturally. Spectators would flock in masses, feeling sorry for whomever I was up against. Often, they would slip…most unfortunate. Should’ve trained more. Was the concrete too slick, sticky? Didn’t affect me! Now, as an adult, I tried again, with the squares my kids drew. An earthy humbling, is the best way I can describe it. While my little girl hopped with ease, I threw my back out, and pretty sure my kneecap popped off. The conceited spice I once tossed at my opponents came back five-fold, as I find myself laid up on the couch for the next 4-6 weeks.
