Inspired by the word prompt, EXCITED, offered by, Kristian. Please visit the link for more submissions, or to submit your own ๐ https://talesfromthemindofkristian.wordpress.com/2020/12/03/excited/
I used to be excited,
For a night out…
Dinner with the girls,
Drinks,
Dancing our hearts out.
But,
I am a mom now.
Does THAT stop me from going out?
No.
I wish that was an acceptable reason.
Laziness…is that what it is?
Low self-esteem…is that what it is?
Lack of expendable funds…is that what it is?
All of the above,
Or none.
I use my kids as the reason I donโt go out anymore,
But, I know,
That is just a well-rehearsed excuse.
Even Mommy needs some โmeโ time. How you spend it is up to you with no excuses necessary.

I echo the above response. Does sitting on the deck for a few minutes count as going out? Yet, the prompt is ‘excited.” You likely hit a nerve with all Women/Mothers during parts of their life. A great post, Sara๐

Thank you ๐ Not that I want to be a “bar star”, by any stretch of the imagination. Been there, done that, out of my system YEARS before the boys came along

When your kids are off your hands, you need to get a dog. He was always my excuse.

Noted haha! My kids are only 2 and 9 months so I still have lots of time ๐

When they are that age, you look forward to them being adults and sorting out their own problems.
Well, I don’t want to burst that particular bubble…
