Inspired by the photo prompt. Original link below 🙂
My OCD was already out of control,
Then, the string.
I have to pause, take a moment to compose myself.
Hands on knees, deep breaths.
You’ll be okay, you’ll make it through.
Just. Breathe.
Kind of an interesting find,
The infinity symbol the string makes,
An accurate representation of my disorder.
Never ending,
Never ceasing,
To disrupt my walks,
My life.
All I wanted was a donut from the bakery down the street.
But now,
I’m stuck in this endless, ceaseless, infinite loop of anxiety.
Thank you for the photo prompt, Rochelle, https://rochellewisoff.com/2020/12/02/4-december-2020/
Nicely done, a good description of living with OCD.

That’s a high price to pay for a donut

A nicely written story. can see the infinity link because its more overt, but I am fascinated where the OCD (which is a recurring theme this week) comes into it. How did you get to that?

The wonky bricks. Not sure why I went that direction. I didn’t realize it was a recurring theme…just rolled with what came to me first

Coincidentally I tried infinity meditation today.
Nice story! I have a bit of OCD, it’s tough to live with it and for others to understand our problem 😅

I think she needs to wear a pair of blinders when she’s out and about. Doesn’t the circle of the donut also symbolize something? Poor woman! Anxiety out of control doesn’t feel good.

Hmmm…not sure about the donut. I didn’t even think about that?! I’ve had my fair share of anxiety, sounds like you might have as well. Definitely a tough thing to deal with

I appreciate that. Though I haven’t personally struggled with OCD, I’m no stranger to anxiety. My heart goes out to anyone dealing with either/both/all

It’s reality for some people. It must be a nightmare.

I’ve worked with serious OCD / autistic people…trust me, I’ve seen worse.

If I could do a heart emoji from my laptop, I would. You clearly have a heart of gold. I wrote from a place of little information, so I hope I did it at least a little justice

I like the description of “anxiety” as an “infinite loop”.

I appreciate that, Frank 🙂 Unfortunately based on personal experience…but at least makes for more authentic writing
