Haunted House

You can find the original link below 🙂 This was inspired by the word prompts,

Scary campfire stories are the best. Unfortunately, my latest is true. If you dare, tuck up and listen in. Otherwise, get me some more popcorn.

It began on a day like any other. I was painting the spare room of our new house. As I ran my roller along the wall, I noticed a hole. Peering inside, I saw nothing but black

I wondered what to do…tape the narrow passage and cover it? Or, throw caution to the wind and investigate.

I took the lead of my adventurous side, and checked it out.

With a shake of my shoulders and crick of my neck, I stuck in my arm.

It was only a second before something took hold of my wrist. It yanked so hard, my cheek hit the wall. I screamed and scrambled to be released.

When I was finally able to withdraw my arm, there were long, deep claw marks down my forearm, seeping blood.

The morning after, I listed my new house for sale.

I’ll probably lose some money. But, it’s a small price to pay for the safety of my family.

If I’m going to live in a haunted house, I at least want the ghosts to be cordial.
